Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time.
So, you don’t accept insurance… Can I use my out-of-network benefits?
In some cases, you may be eligible to use out-of-network benefits to obtain reimbursement for therapy sessions, depending on your insurance/insurance plan. That being said, you are responsible for paying for each session in full at the time of the appointment.
It is suggested that you reach out to your insurance company to determine what your benefits are and if you are able to submit a superbill (an itemized document showing sessions you can send to your insurance company for reimbursement) to be reimbursed for a portion of the session rate. .
What is the process if we want to work together?
Once we decide to work together after completing a 15 minute consult call, we will schedule our first session, called an “intake”. I will then invite you to my site, Simple Practice, to complete forms prior to the intake session. The intake session consists of general information gathering of you and your experience, and identifying what you hope to get out of therapy. We will then determine how frequent we will meet based on your needs and your goals of therapy.
How often will we meet?
Frequency is determined collaboratively between myself and my client based on their needs and life circumstances. I suggest starting weekly or biweekly in order to determine your individualized goals. Eventually, we will collaboratively decide what frequency feels best based on your needs.
Do you prescribe medication?
I do not. If you are currently working with a clinician who prescribes medication for you, I am happy to work directly with them to improve your care. If you are interested in exploring medication as an option, I am happy to help you navigate seeking support from prescribers during our sessions.
What are your qualifications? What do they mean?
I have completed a graduate program and have earned a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, I have been granted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin after completing 3,000 supervised hours in the field post-graduation.
I have specialty training in a form of therapy, Brainspotting. This allows me to offer deeper processing for clients who are looking for longer lasting healing and the transformation of their relationship with their trauma.
